This week is National Apprenticeship Week in the UK — an opportunity to spotlight the evoke colleagues who are developing their skills and shaping their careers through apprenticeships.
To date, 115 colleagues have successfully completed an apprenticeship with evoke, with a further 72 currently enrolled. Behind each of those numbers is someone balancing work and study, building new capabilities, and applying fresh thinking directly back into their role.
At evoke, colleagues can choose from over 35 apprenticeship programmes, spanning areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Project Management and HR, among many others.
HEAR FROM OUR APPRENTICES
For many of our apprentices, the experience has been a catalyst for career progression, opening doors to new opportunities and helping them build the confidence to step into more senior or specialist roles. As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we caught up with some of our colleagues who have completed apprenticeships:
"My Project Management apprenticeship equipped me with practical tools that I now use, it strengthened my planning, stakeholder management and decision-making skills, and has helped me deliver projects more effectively and with greater impact across the business."
Paanan Selvan, Business Efficiency Co-Ordinator
"For me, the apprenticeship opportunities have transformed my capabilities and skills in the working environment, helping me to develop initially from single to multi-site leadership and now to a more strategic level. I am currently on my third apprenticeship, which is the level 7 in strategic management and leadership, each apprenticeship, has elevated not only my skills and knowledge but allowed me to share the learnings to develop those within the business. If you're thinking about doing an apprenticeship, be prepared to be resilient, as it is not easy alongside working full-time however I guarantee you will see the value for yourself at the end."
Marc Corfield, Area Manager
"The Level 5 Apprenticeship in Operations Management has enabled me to grow as a manager and leader within my current role, and has significantly boosted my future career opportunities. I have collaborated with interesting people in various roles across the company and gained a greater understanding of the rules and regulations that govern our industry. I have been able to implement new skills, frameworks, and methodologies directly to daily tasks, align roles with strategic objectives. embed a learning culture, and establish a more inclusive working environment, all of which have positively impacted my teams development, engagement, performance, and wellbeing."
Victoria Nichols, Team Leader and Regional Colleague Forum Rep
"Completing the BA (Hons) in Management Practice challenged me to think differently about how I approach problems, influence conversations, and operate at the right level for my role. It gave me the confidence and capability to step out of retail operations after 28 years and move into a Gaming Business Partner role, where I now blend commercial insight, player engagement, and retail execution to drive performance. The apprenticeship didn’t just develop my skills – it gave me the push to change my career trajectory."
Jason Sharp, Gaming Business Partner
We’re proud of each and every one of our apprentices’ commitment to learning and growth, and thankful for the impact they make every day!
