Colleagues pull together for the Grand National!

The Grand National is one of the biggest days in our calendar, and to ensure business ran as smoothly as possible, colleagues pulled together to support our Retail and Customer Operations teams.

Verity Young, Group General Counsel & Company Secretary, attended our Notting Hill shop to support the Retail team: "It was a fantastic opportunity to experience first-hand the great work our Retail colleagues do and on such an important day for the business. Thank you to the team for making me feel so welcome!"

Take a look at what some of our other volunteers had to say about their Grand National experience.

Kara O’Neill said: "The team were so welcoming and showed me the ropes on one of the busiest days of the year. There was a great atmosphere on the ground, and of course there was a bit of horsing around! Stepney Green made a huge effort to make me feel part of the team and really did capture the spirit of the day, demonstrating a good sense of fun in their interactions with customers. It was great for me to get to know the inner workings of the shop to help me better understand my own work here at William Hill. I will definitely be returning to do a full shop day!"

Joanne Nicholas: "What a great experience supporting Dawn and the team in St. Neots on Grand National day. There was a real sense of community in the shop and I loved hearing the excitement about the Grand National, especially from those who don’t normally bet. I loved it!"

Tamla Brion-Thompson, Safer Gambling Officer who supported our online team said: "I’ve always wanted to experience being an online chat operator and what better time to do it than during Grand National! The training I received was great and the support we received on the day was amazing. I enjoyed every conversation I had with the customers, it felt like second nature having always loved helping our customers in shop. It was made even better each time a customer gave a 5 Star rating at the end of the conversation."

Thank you to everyone that played their part in delivering a stonking Grand National!
